Midlife changes the conditions. Not your capability.

Vegan performance coaching for women in perimenopause and beyond who train consistently - but aren't seeing the results they used to.

If you've always trained, always taken responsibility for your health, but the results you used to count on have stopped coming as reliably as they did - that's the physiology of this phase, and it responds to a different approach.

I help vegan women in midlife rework how they train and fuel and build real strength for the decades ahead.

A free 30-minute 1:1 call to talk through where you are, what's changed, and what's next for your training, strength and fuelling.

Is this you?

A woman doing lunges on a sandy beach near the ocean, with weathered wooden posts and a navigation marker in the background.

You show up. You always have. You train, you move, you live by your values - plants on your plate, effort in the gym, maybe a race or an event on the calendar, or maybe just the sense that the effort should be paying off more than it is. You're not someone who needs convincing to work out. You're already doing it.

But something has shifted.

  • Training that gives less back than it used to, on the same work

  • Strength you'd banked starting to slip

  • Recovery between sessions dragging out.

  • Energy that cuts out by mid-afternoon

  • Mental fog where focus used to be

  • Sleep that breaks after a hard training day

  • The quiet frustration of feeling out of sync with who you know yourself to be

You’ve tried adjusting. And it’s still not landing.

You want the work to count again. To put the effort in and feel it land.

You don’t need to start over or abandon what works.

You just need a smarter plan that reflects the woman you are now - and the physiology you’re working with.

The real disconnect

Most midlife programs assume you're starting from scratch.

You're not.

You're disciplined. You're driven.

And even the advice built for this exact phase still misses you. Menopause advice assumes you eat meat. Vegan and plant-based advice is written for someone who wants to be a bit healthier - not someone training consistently who wants the effort to actually pay off again. You sit in the gap between the two.

What's missing isn't effort. It's a strategy that reflects the physiological reality of this phase of life - where you are now and how you actually fuel it.

The hormonal shifts of perimenopause and postmenopause change how your body responds to training, nutrition timing, recovery load and stress. The same inputs that built your capacity in your thirties and early forties now produce a different output.

And here's what most coaches miss. You don't just need to move more. You need to build real strength, power and muscle. Not skirting the edges of training - actually picking up the heavier weights, working with intention and building the kind of body that carries you well for decades.

Your vegan fuelling needs recalibrating too. A plant-based diet that has served you well for years most likely needs a rethink for this phase.

That's what I coach. Strength, fuelling and recovery built around the body you're in now — so your training starts working again.

How Edge Align™ works

A woman practicing yoga on the beach by the water, sitting on the sand with one hand on the ground and the other arm raised overhead.

Edge Align™ is for active midlife women who are already moving - and ready to train with real intention. Whether you’re building toward something specific or simply done with feeling like your body isn’t keeping up with your life.

Twelve weeks, one to one, worked across three phases, to support your transformation.

Phase 1 - Assess:

We start with what’s actually happening, not what a generic plan assumes. We map the whole picture: how you’re training, recovering, fuelling and sleeping, and what perimenopause and the years after are doing underneath it. You come out of the first month with a clear read on where the friction is and what’s costing you most. Usually noticing the first changes already, because some of it is fixable straight away.

Phase 2 - Apply:

We work the thing holding you back most, first, and build from there. One clear focus at a time, adjusted week by week as your body responds. This is where it consolidates. The early shifts become something you can feel and measure.

Phase 3 - Anchor:

We lock the gains in and make sure they hold. By now your body’s responding and we’re fine-tuning. You finish knowing exactly what works for you and why - with clarity, confidence and the option to keep going.

This isn't an extreme protocol or a quick fix. It's a sustainable way of training and fuelling that carries you into the future.

The four pillars we work across every phase

Move

Strength training that builds real muscle and power, alongside conditioning, that respects your recovery load and long-term progression.

Not lighter, not easier - smarter.

Nourish

Vegan fuelling built around hormonal health, energy and training capacity. Protein timing, micronutrient density, energy availability: dialled in for this phase, not just for the training you were doing a decade ago.

Flex

Mobility and resilience strategies that reduce accumulated fatigue rather than pushing through it.

Regulate

Working with your hormones and nervous system through perimenopause and beyond.

Meet Wendy

Your midlife performance coach

A woman with blonde curly hair, wearing a light blue athletic tank top and a smartwatch, stands with her arms crossed under a pier, smiling at the camera.

I'm in my mid-50s, vegan since 2013, and still running ultras. I coach vegan women through midlife - the perimenopause years and everything after - to keep training consistently when this phase changes how your body responds.

Before this, I was a lawyer working across high-performance environments, including the London 2012 Olympics. I've spent the years since proving plants can carry you through anything - a 156-mile desert marathon, 275 miles solo along the South West Coast Path and every midlife curveball in between.

I've also coached over 350 women through every life stage, and another hundred-plus through other coaching businesses - plus two years of one-to-one nutrition, sleep and stress consultations. That volume is how I can see how differently a midlife body responds, and why training hard on too little fuel costs you strength and recovery in this phase, even when you're doing everything by the book.

I learned that the hard way myself. Training for that 275-mile run for my 50th, I gained seven pounds. Broken sleep, exhausted mornings, nothing translating — even though I was training hard and fuelling well on plants. I ran the 275 miles anyway, then rebuilt everything I knew. That became Edge Align™.

Most coaches who understand midlife training have never fuelled someone training this hard on plants. Most plant-based coaches have never trained a woman through perimenopause and beyond. I've lived both, for nearly 14 years.

The women I work with aren't looking to dial it back. They're looking for what's actually going to work - and I'm not coaching from theory or from where I used to be. I'm still doing this, still training, still adapting as my own body changes. You're not just getting a plan. You're getting proof it holds up.
